  • FENUGREEK (Trigonella foenum-graecum) - Studies have found Fenugreek to increase milk supply, especially in the early stages of breastfeeding.  It can also help regulate blood sugar levels.
  • GOATS RUE (Galega officinalis) - Goat’s rue is a natural galactagogue, it stimulates breast milk supply. Phytoestrogens present in goat’s rue are plant chemicals that mimic the action of estrogen and this is responsible for the secretion of milk in breastfeeding mothers.  Goat's rue is also an antioxidant, helps maintain blood pressure and blood sugar levels.
  • NETTLE LEAF (Urtica dioica) - Another herb which is associated with an increase in milk supply of lactating women.  In addition, it detoxifies the body by neutralising toxins and improving nutrient uptake in the gut.  It also encourages the lymphatic system and kidneys to remove excess waste. Nettle also contains Boron which is connected to maintaining calcium content in bones.  It also helps regulate hormones which is important during lactation.
  • FENNEL (Foeniculum vulgare) - Fennel has powerful antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-fungal effects.  It may help with heart health, lower blood pressure, boost immunity and detoxify the body. Fennel may also assist in weight loss by eliminating water retention and bloating whilst also acting as a metabolism booster.
  • PEPPERMINT (Mentha × piperita) - Peppermint is a wonderful herb to aid in digestive symptoms such as gas, bloating and indigestion.  As it acts as a muscle relaxant.  Peppermint may improve energy and also freshen your breath by killing off germs that lead to bad breath.
  • LEMONBALM (Melissa officinalis)- Can help calm the nerves and relieve symptoms of anxiety.  Stress can affect the production of breastmilk.
  • ALFALFA (Medicago sativa)- Alfalfa contains phytoestrogens or plant components that resemble estrogens and can attach to their receptors, and is anecdotally thought to increase milk supply.  It is high in Vitamin K and has other benefits such as improve digestion, detoxifying the body, speed up healing and inflammation.
  • CHAMOMILE (Matricaria recutita)- Chamomile tea is known for its calming effect.  It assists with the anxiety associated with sleep deprivation and having a new baby in the house.
